How you ever noticed in the so called "Streetwear" game, that the back to basics look is just a progression of the streetwear scene that everyone is getting tired of. It went from all-over prints to basic white tees and vans. Now everybody is rockin that same look and once again we're all gonna get tired of it and move on to something else. Im not gonna front, im all about some simplicity but I do appreciate good design regardless of the brand or popularity. Classic design is always existant. Going back to basics is something that is always a given and should always be there regardless of what trend is popular. I've been involved (meaning i've worked, alot longer than you so called vets) in the streetwear biz for more than 10 years now so i've seen it all from the Maurice Malone to the Mecca to the Alife and regardless of what trend is out there the back-to-basics look will always be an option. I guess now the "basics" is the new "streetwear". Think about it.
